Grateful Dev AI is an independent software studio designing and developing applications that use on-device and cloud AI to make everyday iOS workflows faster, calmer, and more useful.

What we do

We are a small, independent studio, not an agency and not a consultancy. We conceive, design, build, and ship our own iOS applications under our own name. Every product that carries the Grateful Dev AI mark is one we designed from the ground up, wrote the code for, and stand behind after release.

Our focus is narrow and deliberate: applications for iPhone that put practical, well-integrated artificial intelligence to work on real tasks. That means using large language models, on-device machine learning, and Apple's native frameworks to solve problems that used to require a dozen taps, a separate account, or a trip to a desktop computer. We are not interested in bolting a chatbot onto an existing idea for the sake of a headline feature. If AI does not measurably improve how quickly or how well a task gets done, it does not belong in the app.

How we approach a product

We start with a specific, everyday problem rather than a technology looking for a use case. Once we understand the problem, we ask what a native iOS app can do that a website or a general-purpose chatbot cannot: work offline when it needs to, respect the platform's privacy model, integrate with the tools people already use on their phones, and feel instant. Only after that groundwork is done do we decide how AI fits in, and how much of it should run on-device versus in the cloud.

We build in small, shippable increments, test with real usage rather than assumptions, and would rather launch a simple app that does one thing correctly than a complicated one that does five things adequately. We take platform conventions seriously: Human Interface Guidelines, accessibility, and Apple's privacy and data-use rules are treated as requirements, not suggestions.

Where we're headed

Grateful Dev AI is early. We currently have applications in active development for iPhone across a small set of categories described in more detail on our apps page. We intend to release deliberately rather than quickly, and we will keep this site current as products move from development toward release on the App Store.
