Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 14, 2026. This policy explains how Grateful Dev AI LLC collects, uses, and protects information across our website and iOS applications.

1. Who we are

Grateful Dev AI LLC ("Grateful Dev AI," "we," "us," or "our") is an Ohio limited liability company based in Cincinnati, Ohio, operating this website at gratefuldevai.com and developing applications for iOS. This policy applies to this website and to any application we publish that links to it, unless a specific app provides its own supplemental privacy notice, in which case that notice governs for that app in addition to the terms here.

2. Information we collect

What we collect depends on how you interact with us, and we aim to collect the minimum necessary to operate and improve our products.

2.1 Information you provide directly

If you email us, fill out a form, or otherwise contact us, we collect what you send us, typically your email address, your name if you provide it, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Our website may log standard technical information when you visit, such as your general device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, referring page, and the pages you view. Our iOS applications may similarly collect device and usage information, such as app version, device model, operating system version, crash reports, and basic in-app usage events, to help us understand how the app is used and to diagnose problems.

2.3 Information from app features

Some of our applications use on-device or cloud-based AI features. Where a feature sends content to a cloud service for processing, for example to generate a summary or transcription, we only transmit the data necessary to perform that specific function, and we do not use that content to build advertising profiles. Where a feature can run entirely on-device using Apple's on-device machine learning frameworks, we prefer that approach and will disclose in the relevant app's App Store listing and in-app notices which processing happens on-device versus in the cloud.

3. How we use information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the content of your messages or in-app activity to serve third-party advertising.

4. Analytics and third-party services

We may use privacy-conscious analytics tools, such as Apple's App Store Connect analytics or a comparable service, to understand aggregate app usage like install counts, crash rates, and feature engagement. Where an application relies on a third-party AI provider to process a request (for example, to generate text from a prompt you submit), that provider processes the specific content of your request under its own terms and privacy commitments, and we select vendors that agree not to use your content to train their models without permission. We do not embed third-party advertising networks or third-party trackers whose purpose is to build cross-app or cross-site advertising profiles of our users.

If a future version of an application integrates a new third-party service that materially changes how data is handled, we will update this policy and, where required, the app's in-app disclosures before that change takes effect.

5. Children's privacy

Our applications are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can investigate and, if appropriate, delete it. This policy is intended to align with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and any application specifically marketed to children will include additional protections and disclosures as required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy: to respond to and document correspondence, to maintain accurate diagnostic and crash records while they remain useful for fixing problems, and to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be linked back to you.

7. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including restricting access to information to those who need it and relying on reputable, security-conscious infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep our practices current with industry standards for a studio of our size.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise any of these rights, or ask us a question about how your information is handled, by emailing us at the address below. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. You can also control certain data at the device level, for example by managing app permissions, tracking settings, and analytics sharing in your iPhone's Settings app.

9. International users

Grateful Dev AI is based in the United States, and information we collect may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required by law, we take steps intended to ensure that international transfers of personal information are subject to appropriate safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time as our products, legal obligations, or practices change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice such as an in-app message. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
